This paper offers a prototype of a Hyperledger Fabric-IPFS based network architecture including a smart contract based encryp- tion scheme that meant to improve the security of user’s data that is being uploaded to the distributed ledger. A new extension to the self- encryption scheme was deployed by integrating data owner’s identity into the encryption process. Such integration allows to permanently pre- serve ownership of the original file and link it to the person/entity who originally uploaded it. Moreover, self-encryption provides strong security guarantees that decryption of a file is computationally not feasible under the condition that the encrypted file and the key are safely stored. The first major market adoption of blockchain happened in 2009 when Bitcoin was introduced [12]. Interest in blockchain solutions grew over the years and lead to the invention of Ethereum - Bitcoin peer but with support for smart contracts which are digital codes enabling the description of complete business logic [1]. The introduction of smart contracts leads to further development in the field of blockchain and cre- ated demand for more industry-friendly solutions that allow to identify users of the system (Know-Your-Customer, Anti-Money-Laundering). Hyperledger Fab- ric was then introduced as a highly modular permissioned blockchain that allows great customization to suit particular industrial needs [3]. The first illustrative examples of iron oxides certainly are compass needle or rust (Figure 1.2). Iron oxides are present in solid, liquid, and gaseous environments, with respective examples such as rocks, as mineral inclusion in swimming bacteria or in aerosols. These prehistoric dead plankton and their naturally engineered product have dominated and shaped modern times into “the Great Oil Age,” as McKenzie-Brown, Jaremko, and Finch titled their book on the subject [1]. Petroleum shapes our modern times in two main ways: first by serving as the main source of energy, and secondly by being the raw material for thousands of products that play critical roles in modern civilization. Fossil fuels still constitute the major global source of energy, despite the recent advances in renew- able sources of energy. Fossil fuels represent 85% of global primary energy consumption [2,3], with oil remaining as the most used source in the energy mix (33%–34%), as shown in Fig. 1.1. The global consumption of and demand for hydrocarbons (oil and gas) outweigh that of other sources of energy such as coal, nuclear, and renewable energies, due to the fast-growing population and newly emerging technologies. The global energy demand is projected to more than double by 2050 due to the growth in population and economies [4]. The demand for gas is growing faster than the demand for oil, especially in developing countries [5,6]

In addition to collagenbased polymers, other natural, absorbable polymers, such as albumin, chitosan, and hyaluronic acid and derivatives thereof have been used for many pharmaceutical and biomedical applications for several decades.2 Of these polymers, the application of chitosan and hyaluronic acid–based polymers has received a great deal of attention in the past 15 years for use in controlled drug delivery systems, tissue repair, tissue engineering, and controlling certain biological events.
