High-Frequency Trading and Probability Theory - Original PDF
نویسندگان: Zhaodong Wang, Weian Zheng خلاصه: This book is the first of its kind to treat high-frequency trading and technical analysis as accurate sciences. The authors reveal how to build trading algorithms of high-frequency trading and obtain stable statistical arbitrage from the financial market in detail. The authors' arguments are based on rigorous mathematical and statistical deductions and this will appeal to people who believe in the theoretical aspect of the topic. Investors who believe in technical analysis will find out how to verify the efficiency of their technical arguments by ergodic theory of stationary stochastic processes, which form a mathematical background for technical analysis. The authors also discuss technical details of the IT system design for high-frequency trading.

Emissions Trading as a Policy Instrument: Evaluation and Prospects - Original PDF
Emissions Trading as a Policy Instrument: Evaluation and Prospects - Original PDF
نویسندگان: CESifo Seminar Series خلاصه: Empirical and theoretical perspectives on the first two phases of the European Emissions Trading Scheme, the largest cap-and-trade market established so far. Emissions trading schemes figure prominently among policy instruments used to tackle the problem of climate change, and the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS), begun in 2005, is the largest cap-and-trade market so far established. In the EU ETS, firms regulated by the scheme are provided with emissions allowances (each a one-time right to emit one ton of greenhouse gases) and can sell their unused allowances to firms that have higher rates of emissions. In this volume, leading economists offer empirical and theoretical perspectives on the early phases of the EU ETS implementation. The contributors discuss the features of the EU ETS market; and regulatory uncertainty stemming from rule changes; the political economy context of the trading scheme, including allowance allocation and the influence of lobbying on abatement decisions; the coexistence of such overlapping instruments for climate policy as pricing and taxation; the relationship between spot and futures markets for allowances, and firms' responses to various features of the EU ETS, including fluctuating allowance prices, free allocation, and links to the Kyoto process. They show that, although the basic theory behind emissions permit markets is straightforward, design features, market structure, and interactions with other policy instruments can influence the efficiency of the scheme. Goods from the East, 1600-1800: Trading Eurasia - Original PDF
نویسندگان: Maxine Berg, Felicia Gottmann, Hanna Hodacs, Chris Nierstrasz خلاصه: The imperative of the long-distance seaborne trade of Europeans, from the age of exploration, was to acquire the goods of the exotic East – the silks and porcelains and tea of China, the spices of the spice islands and the textiles of India. Goods from the East focuses on the trade in fine products: how they were made, marketed and distributed between Asia and Europe. This trade was conducted by East India Companies and many private traders, and the first Global Age that resulted deeply affected European consumption and manufacturing. This book provides a full comparative and connective study of Asia's trade with a range of European countries. Its themes relate closely to issues of fine manufacturing and luxury goods in the current age of globalization. Goods from the East brings together established scholars, such as Jan de Vries, Om Prakash and Josh Gommans, and a new generation of researchers, who together look into the connections between European consumer cultures and Asian trade.
Making a Market for Acts of God: The Practice of Risk Trading in the Global Reinsurance Industry - Original PDF
Making a Market for Acts of God: The Practice of Risk Trading in the Global Reinsurance Industry - Original PDF
نویسندگان: Paula Jarzabkowski, Rebecca Bednarek, Paul Spee خلاصه: Reinsurance is a financial market that trades in the risk of unpredictable and devastating disasters - such as Hurricane Katrina, the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, and the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre. Such disasters are increasing in both frequency and severity, with the cost of their losses mounting rapidly. Reinsurance insures insurance companies, enabling them to pay claims arising from these losses. It is thus a market mechanism that is a critical part of the social and economic safety net, helping to pick up the pieces after disasters. Yet, how is the risk of such disasters calculated and traded in a global market? This book brings to life the reinsurance market through vivid real-life tales that draw from an ethnographic, "fly-on-the-wall" study of the global reinsurance industry over three annual cycles. The authors shadowed underwriters around the world as they traded risks through multiple disasters. For instance, this book takes readers into the desperate hours of pricing Japanese risks during March 2011, while the devastating aftermath of the Tohoku earthquake is unfolding. To show how the market works, the book offers authentic tales gathered from observations of reinsurers in Bermuda, Lloyd's of London, Continental Europe and SE Asia as they evaluate, price and compete for different risks as part of their everyday practice. Understanding how this market for disasters works has never been more critical given the impact of climate change and increased global connectivity, where a flood in one country can trigger losses to supply chains around the world. The authors develop a novel concept of how global markets work, which advances scholarship and challenges current thinking about how financial markets trade in intangible assets such as risk. This book will be useful to readers interested in markets for disasters, insurance, reinsurance and financial markets, and academics interested in the practice of financial markets specifically or the practice of strategy and organizations generally.
HypnoTrading_ A practical guide to using hypnosis and NLP to improve your trading performance - Original PDF
HypnoTrading_ A practical guide to using hypnosis and NLP to improve your trading performance - Original PDF
نویسندگان: Catherine Stott خلاصه: Introduction his chapter begins by introducing you to hypnosis and hypnotherapy, what they are and how these techniques help traders. You will need to understand these basic elements to use the techniques outlined later in the book. The following topics are covered: 1. Hypnosis and hypnotherapy 2. The science behind hypnosis 3. A brief history of hypnosis and hypnotherapy 4. Recent scientific advances in hypnotherapy 5. Self-hypnosis 6. Psychotherapy and NLP 7. Havening: unblocking emotional barriers 8. How hypnotherapy and psychotherapy help traders 1. Hypnosis and hypnotherapy There is much mystery, myth and scepticism surrounding hypnosis and hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapists have worked hard to ensure hypnotherapy is reputable, governed and understood. Hypnosis is a naturally arising state of mind that occurs in many people on a daily basis, for example during a monotonous drive on the motorway, when watching a movie or when we drive a familiar route and can’t remember the journey afterwards. At these times when we are deeply relaxed or highly focused, our conscious mind goes into a neutral state and our subconscious processing takes over. This means our subconscious mind is more accessible. Hypnosis itself is not a therapy, although one could argue that the relaxing properties of hypnosis are very healing. The therapy side comes when a trained therapist works with the subconscious part of the mind to treat various emotional, physical and mental ailments and create beneficial changes in a person. Once direct access to the subconscious mind is possible through hypnosis, certain therapeutic techniques, such as NLP, can then be used to initiate change within the client. This is more effective than using the techniques alone, because you are working with the subconscious part of your mind, which is the part of you that stores the rules of your environment and your beliefs, desires and attitudes. Recent research has revealed that hypnotherapy is a tool that has many useful applications – so much so that the NHS now employ hypnotherapists, universities fund research into hypnotherapy and mental health charities deploy hypnotherapists to work with various mental health issues. In short, hypnotherapy is an evidence-based therapy that has changed many lives and it could change yours too.
