نویسندگان: Lyndon H. Larouche خلاصه: LaRouche was right! LaRouche was right! LaRouche was right! Are people finally going to admit the truth about this man? He forcasted (using his own LaRouch/Riemann method) that the entire world economy would collapse unless we created a new financial system. He started saying this in 1971! Well, here we are... All of the so-called experts and economists, including that idiot - Allen Greenspan were wrong and LaRouche was right. Instead of being open-minded, most Americans went along - like stupid sheep - and followed what the "experts" in the media were telling us about economics. Many people laughed and ridiculed LaRouche and said: "Ha-ha, LaRouche is a nut. America is the riches country on earth! Our economy is not collapsing." So my question is: are the anti-LaRouche fanatics going to give-up, swallow thier pride, and admit that they were completly wrong and LaRouche was completly right? O.K. Americans: Stop being stupid. Turn off your reality T.V. show and go to www.larouchepac.com and learn something for a change; It's a matter of life-or-death.

Corporatizing Canada Making Business Out of Public Service - PDF
نویسندگان: JAMIE BROWNLEE, CHRIS HURL, AND KEVIN WALBY خلاصه: Jamie Brownlee, Chris Hurl, and Kevin Walby Social activists and critical scholars have often used the concept of “corporatization” to describe the changing nature of the Canadian state over the past thirty years. The concept evokes the image of economic elites controlling public institutions and using business metrics to evaluate their performance. Corporatization is also used to describe the expanding discretion of senior managers to set priorities in health and social services, the creation of market-friendly public sector cultures, the development of new contractual arrangements between the public and private sector, and the “capture” of regulatory agencies by industry. In the popular press, the term corporatization is invoked to explain changes in areas as diverse as mental health, foreign aid, LGBTQ pride events, and the funeral industry. (1) Clearly, corporatization means different things to different people, with it becoming a sort of catch-all concept to describe a multifaceted set of political and economic processes associated with neoliberalism and growing corporate power. However, little attention has been devoted to exploring what corporatization means, to assessing its process and impacts, or to investigating how it is taken up across different types of public agencies and institutions. A small body of research has examined the effects of corporatization around the world, initially looking at North America and Western Europe, and, more recently, the Global South. (2) Much of this literature focuses on public utilities, such as electricity and water, as well as health care and higher education, although research has increasingly focused on other areas of service delivery. Some researchers have also examined the growing impact of corporatization on civil society. For instance, recent scholarship has exposed how social activist organizations increasingly look and act like multinational corporations, and how non-governmental and non-profit organizations are pursuing partnerships with the same corporations they ostensibly oppose. ESUS AND JOHN WAYNE How White Evangelicals Corrupted a Faith and Fractured a Nation - Epub + Converted PDF
نویسندگان: Kristin Kobes Du Mez خلاصه: INTRODUCTION ON A BITTERLY COLD DAY IN JANUARY 2016, Donald Trump stood on the stage of an auditorium at a small Christian college in Iowa. He boasted of his poll numbers and his crowd sizes. He warned of the dangers posed by Muslims and undocumented immigrants, and he talked of building a border wall. He denigrated American politicians as stupid, weak, and pathetic. He claimed that Christianity was “under siege” and urged Christians to band together and assert their power. He promised to lead. He had no doubts about the loyalty of his followers: “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose any voters,” he claimed.1 That morning, the Rev. Robert Jeffress, pastor of First Baptist Dallas, introduced Trump. As a pastor Jeffress couldn’t endorse a candidate, but he made clear that he wouldn’t be there if he didn’t think Trump “would make a great president.” Jeffress wasn’t alone. Already at that point, before the Iowa caucuses at the beginning of February, 42 percent of white evangelicals supported Trump—more than any other candidate. The reason was simple, Jeffress contended. Evangelicals were “sick and tired of the status quo.” They were looking for the leader who would “reverse the downward death spiral of this nation that we love so dearly.”

نویسندگان: Shujiro Urata • Ken-Ichi Akao • Ayu Washizu خلاصه: Introduction This multidisciplinary book provides 14 problem-solving lectures on the sustainable development of people, peace, planet, and prosperity—four of the five keywords for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), 4 namely people, planet, prosperity, peace, and partnerships (5Ps). According to the Resolution adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations (2015, p. 2), the SDGs are intended to promote the following actions in these five areas: (1) For people: end poverty and hunger in all their forms and dimensions, as well as ensure that all human beings can fulfill their potential with dignity and equality and in a healthy environment. (2) For planet: protect it from degradation, including through sustainable consumption and production, by sustainably managing natural resources and taking urgent action on climate change, so that it can support the needs of the present and future generations. (3) For prosperity: ensure that all human beings enjoy prosperous and fulfilling lives and that economic, social, and technological progress occurs in harmony with nature. (4) For peace: foster peaceful and inclusive societies that are free from fear and violence. (5) For partnerships: mobilize the means required to implement this agenda through a revitalized Global Partnership for Sustainable Development based on a spirit of strengthened global solidarity, focusing, in partic- ular, on the needs of the poorest and most vulnerable and with the participation of all countries, all stakeholders, and all people

Better for All the World: The Secret History of Forced Sterilization and America's Quest for Racial Purity - Epub + Converted PDF
نویسندگان: Harry Bruinius خلاصه: On a cloudy afternoon on October 19, 1927, as a chilly autumn wind swept down off the Blue Ridge Mountains, rattling the windows of the infirmary at the Virginia Colony for Epileptics and Feeble-minded, Dr. John H. Bell jotted a few notes about an operation he had performed earlier that day. He was the superintendent of this sprawling institution, a campus of regimented brick dormitories and rolling farmland set amid the bluffs overlooking Lynchburg, and one of the country’s finest. The morning’s procedure was simple, and dozens of such operations had taken place here over the years. But for this patient he wrote with particular care, since it was a case that might draw a bit of attention. “Patient sterilized this morning under authority of Act of Assembly in 1926, providing for the sterilization of mental defectives, and as ordered by the Board of Directors of this institution,” he wrote. “She went to the operating room at 9:30 and returned to her bed at 10:30, recovered promptly from the anaesthesia with no untoward after effects anticipated. One inch was removed from each Fallopian tube, the tubes ligated and the ends cauterized by carbolic acid followed by alcohol, and the edges of the broad ligaments brought together with continuous suture. Abdominal wound was united with layer sutures and the approximation of the closure was good.

HISTORY by John Higham, Leonard Krieger and Felix Gilbert - Original PDF
نویسندگان: John Higham, Leonard Krieger and Felix Gilbert خلاصه: From the time of the earliest English settlements in America, men and women of many sorts have been writing history. No one group has ever had a monopoly of the production of competent histories. Leadership in setting standards, however, has usually belonged to a particular class. Twice this leadership has changed hands. During the seventeenth century the best history was written by Puritan clergymen and by lay officials associated with them in creat- ing a new Zion in the wilderness. They wrote hastily, in whatever moments they could spare from active labors in behalf of the Puritan cause. Their history was a further extension of scripture: a chronicle of God's inscrutable will working within their own community. Clergymen long remained one of the most numerous species of his- torical writers, but their importance diminished as the church ceased to form the cultural center of American life. In the eighteenth century, patrician historians came to the fore. The growth of private wealth allowed a margin of leisure time for their studies. The weightiness of history appealed to the strong sense of social responsibility that characterized many American gentlemen; to them the historian was the ultimate human judge of men and events. They strove-without always succeeding, of course-to play a judicial role fairly and impartially, for the patrician, untrammeled by religious orthodoxy, prided himself on his independence of mind. He participated in a wide, transatlantic literary culture and wrote for an unspecialized, cultivated audience.1 During the greater part of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries the patrician historian held the center of the stage, and in the works of Thomas Hutchinson, Charles Gayarre, Francis Parkman, Henry C. Lea, and others, his history reached a high level of accuracy and distinction.

نویسندگان: Thomas Gryta خلاصه: Lights Out examines how Welch’s handpicked successor, Jeff Immelt, tried to fix flaws in Welch’s profit machine, while stumbling headlong into mistakes of his own. In the end, GE’s traditional win-at-all-costs driven culture seemed to lose its direction, which ultimately caused the company’s decline on both a personal and organizational scale. Lights Out details how one of America’s all-time great companies has been reduced to a cautionary tale for our times.

Raj Rhapsodies: Tourism, Heritage and the Seduction of History (New Directions in Tourism Analysis) - Original PDF
نویسندگان: CAROL E. HENDERSON, MAXINE WEISGRAU خلاصه: Heritage is a prized cultural commodity in the marketing of tourism destinations, with particular views of a place being promoted while others are downplayed. The representation of heritage in tourism as something that is static and timeless, derived since time immemorial from a distant past, is seductive. In Asia, a major part of the tourism market lies in the sale and consumption of highly orientalized images and versions of culture and history. This is particularly seen in India, where its northern state of Rajasthan has been successfully marketed as the nation's most heritage-laden, traditional and authentic. This draws heavily on the late nineteenth and early twentieth century years of British rule in India - the Raj.
