La tarea que se han propuesto las autoras del libro no era fácil, ya que, según creo recordar, los apuntes de Isern conservados en el Real Jardín Botánico eran algo caóticos, en tanto que los fragmentos del diario eran excesivamente botánicos y escuetos, algo que hace merecedora de elogios la obra emprendida con la publicación que tenemos ante nosotros.
