To secure and cultivate such peace, we need to love others, even our enemies as well as our friends. howa r d w hu N T e r Archaeological evidence shows that the primordial pattern for human beings is to gather together in relatively tightly knit, clan-sized groups closely aligned with nature. Today, we need consciously to reinvent cooperative and harmonious ways of living together. For people raised within the hyper- individualized paradigm, or in settings where people come from diverse or even warring factions, learning the subtleties of constructive and mutually beneficial interaction within a community setting may take a major effort.
