We are living through a time when old identities - nation, culture and gender are melting down. ما در زمانی زندگی می کنیم که هویت های قدیمی - ملت، فرهنگ و جنسیت در حال ذوب شدن هستند. Spaces of Identity راه‌هایی را بررسی می‌کند که هویت‌های فرهنگی جمعی در شرایط جغرافیای پست مدرن و محیط ارتباطی پخش کابلی و ماهواره‌ای در حال تغییر شکل می‌باشند. برای پرداختن به مشکلات کنونی هویت، نویسندگان به سیاست معاصر بین اروپا و مهم‌ترین کشورهای اروپایی نگاه می‌کنند: آمریکا. اسلام و مشرق زمین. آن‌ها نشان می‌دهند که هویت اروپا بر خلاف این مکان‌ها تعریف شده است و اکنون در حال تعریف شدن است. گزارشی محرک از ماهیت پیچیده و متناقض هویت‌های فرهنگی معاصر.
