این کتاب مقدمه ای جامع بر فیزیک سلول های فتوولتائیک ارائه می دهد. این برای دانشجویان کارشناسی، دانشجویان کارشناسی ارشد و محققان تازه وارد در این زمینه مناسب است. این شامل موارد زیر است: فیزیک پایه نیمه هادی ها در دستگاه های فتوولتائیک. مدل های فیزیکی عملکرد سلول های خورشیدی؛ ویژگی ها و طراحی انواع رایج سلول های خورشیدی؛ و رویکردهایی برای افزایش بازده سلول خورشیدی. متن اصطلاحات و مفاهیم فیزیک دستگاه سلول خورشیدی را توضیح می دهد و به خواننده نشان می دهد که چگونه مسائل فیزیکی مربوطه را فرموله و حل کند. تمرین ها و راه حل های کار شده گنجانده شده است.
