Now, Southerners can be big, loud, and passionate, and we are never more that way than when we’re talking food— cooking or eating it. Because when you come right down to it, whether you think your dumplings should be rolled or dropped, whether you make a white milk gravy or a redeye gravy, and whichever way you make your chili, your corn bread, or your barbecue, whenever you are cooking Southern food, you are cooking from the heart.
